Greetings Fellow Candy Lovers!
Sweet M’s is the gift of a long-lived dream that finally came true!
You see I believe that everyone needs to hold a dream in their heart
(that and a chocolate bar in hand)… for dreams are something that
no one can take away from us.
Sweet M’s really began when I was seven years old. I remember visiting
my dad at his office. He would let me run under the counter and
open up a cabinet where he sold candy to the staff and kids at #13
School “his family away from home”. I was just tall enough to fit
under the counter door and knew exactly where the candy was stashed.
Dad would let me open the door and pick one candy bar. It was such
a treat to be able to select any candy bar, that I would just stare
in awe at the mouth watering assortment….. and finally choose just
one…
I started collecting candy wrappers and eventually made a giant
poster filled with wrappers of every kind of candy I had ever eaten.
I would lie in my bed and dream vividly about one day owning my
own candy store. I’d envision displaying my irresistible assortment
of candies and knew that one day I would live this dream.
In 2003, I opened Sweet M’s Candy World and carry the same variety
of candy, now called “retro” or “nostalgic” candy, along with a
wide assortment of other confections, candies, chocolates and gift
baskets. For my customers who enjoy candy but are on restricted
diets, we also offer an assortment of sugar- free candies, too delicious
to resist!

Single Celebration? Try a Wine and Chocolate Party
What are some fun ways for singles to celebrate Valentine’s Day?
Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be a holiday that only couples can enjoy. There are many ways singles, friends and even groups of couples can get together and celebrate.
One idea is to host a chocolate tasting party or a chocolate and wine pairing party. Of course, with such a wide variety of chocolates to choose from, it helps to have a sense of people’s preferences. According to a recent survey by the National Confectioner’s Association (NCA), men consider specialty chocolates such as truffles, pralines and caramels the sexiest Valentine’s Day treat. On the other hand, women gravitated towards milk chocolate as the sexiest sweet to share on Valentine’s Day.
If you choose to host a chocolate and wine pairing party, make sure not to overpower either the chocolate or the wine. Dark chocolate, a heart-healthy treat and men’s second choice for sexiest sweet according to NCA’s survey, is usually the best match for wine because it has many flavors that are similar to wine. The bolder, more full-bodied wines work best with dark chocolate, such as Syrah, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet.
